A dusty ranch. A cursed tree. And a world that feeds on memories. Blighted is what happens when you mix western mysticism, mutant horror, and a fast-paced action RPG into a single, gorgeous nightmare.
Announced during the Day of the Devs showcase, Blighted is the newest game from Drinkbox Studios—the creators of Guacamelee and Nobody Saves the World. It trades 2D for 3D, and luchador masks for a haunted prairie full of memory trees, rotting rituals, and creatures that fight dirty.
You play as a rancher-turned-warrior, cutting through blighted monsters to recover the truth behind your corrupted world. In this land, people used to bury seeds in the dead so trees could grow from their memories. But a twisted figure named Sorcisto began devouring brains, poisoning the ritual and birthing the Blight.

Combat is fast and reactive. You dodge, strike, juggle, and finish off enemies with style. As you feed on your enemies, your own corruption grows, unlocking new skills but raising the stakes. The stronger you get, the harder the world pushes back.
The game is isometric, with colorful neon shadows and detailed 3D worlds that stretch across graveyards, temples, and twisted roots. It supports two-player co-op—so you can face the Blight with a friend—and features a new score by Jim Guthrie, layering eerie melodies over surreal visuals.
Drinkbox is aiming for a 2026 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It’s a big leap for the studio, both in scope and in tone. And based on the reveal, it looks like their boldest game yet.
