Scott Pilgrim EX: The New Retro Co-op Brawler Drops in 2026

Scott Pilgrim is back, and this time Toronto is a beat-’em-up playground. From rooftops to robot-infested alleys, everything’s a stage for cartoon chaos.

Announced at Summer Game Fest 2025, Scott Pilgrim EX is a brand-new co-op brawler from the team behind TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. It brings back the chiptune pulse of Anamanaguchi, the bold art style of Bryan Lee O’Malley, and a wild new story inspired by the Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime.

This isn’t just a remaster or remake. It’s a fresh take with fully explorable levels, tight 2D combat, and new character abilities. You can tag-team with a friend, combo through crowds, and toss street signs at demon gangs trying to ruin your lunch.

Scott Pilgrim comes back with even more beat-em-up madness!

The starting cast includes Scott, Ramona, Kim, Knives, Wallace, and Stephen. Each has their own move set, and you can switch between them mid-fight. The combat still feels like old-school goodness, but with added polished with dodges, juggles, and tag finishers that reward timing.

The world is non-linear. That means you can wander off the critical path, revisit shops, and unlock new secrets between fights. From arcades to dive bars, everything oozes Toronto flavor with a twisted anime filter.

It’s coming in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, with support for both couch and online co-op.

The old game was loud and messy fun. This one looks sharper, smoother, and way more ambitious. Scott’s back—and he brought the whole band with him.
