Will is back. The doors are open. And this time, it looks like everything is bigger: more monsters, more loot, more danger, and probably more customers haggling over potion prices.
Moonlighter 2 was officially revealed during Summer Game Fest, and while we didn’t get a full breakdown, what we saw says a lot. This sequel builds on the original’s hook: live a double life as a humble shopkeeper by day and a fearless dungeon-crawler by night.
This time around, the pixel art pops even more, with richer lighting and smoother animations. There are new enemy types, bigger environments, and a darker tone tucked into all the charm. The combat still looks fast and fluid, with new weapon styles, dodges, and more tactical movement.

But the shopkeeping side seems deeper too. The trailer shows Will back behind the counter, upgrading his storefront, and chatting with townsfolk. You’ll still manage prices, restock shelves, and probably try to stop customers from stealing your best gear. Classic Moonlighter.
There’s also a quick shot of two characters standing side by side in a dungeon—and while nothing’s confirmed, fans are already wondering if Moonlighter 2 might introduce co-op.
Digital Sun says the game is coming in 2026, and it’s headed to PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
No exact release date yet, but honestly? We’re just happy the doors are opening again.
