Mixtape takes the 1980s and distills it into one last perfect night. You and your friends skate, explore, and play out teenage memories to a soundtrack featuring Portishead, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, and more.
The game was revealed during Summer Game Fest, where the trailer captured late-night energy: skateboarding under streetlights, popping fireworks from a car, snapping photos in a theme park, and hanging at a baseball field. It feels like Life is Strange with an 80s mixtape heart.

The game comes from Beethoven & Dinosaur, the team behind The Artful Escape, and is published by Annapurna Interactive. The studio describes it as “the greatest hits of teenage experience,” and the early tone checks out. Critics called it nostalgic and emotional, though some Reddit users noted concerns about the visuals matching their vision of the era.
Coming in 2025, Mixtape will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it will be part of Xbox Game Pass from day one.
This isn’t just a random game, it’s a ticket back to a time when every night felt infinite and every song hit like a moment you couldn’t forget.
