What if you mixed Among Us with a third-person shooter? That’s the setup for Killer Inn, a multiplayer murder mystery that just made its debut at Summer Game Fest. It’s weird, stylish, and now accepting beta sign-ups on PC via Steam.
In each match, up to 24 players enter a dark, snowed-in hotel buried in the mountains. Most are survivors—called Lambs. But a few are secret killers, the Wolves. Lambs have to explore, investigate, and gather evidence like hair strands or fingerprints to figure out who’s hunting them. Wolves, meanwhile, already know their targets and just need to take them out without getting caught.

If a Lamb accuses the wrong person, they’re instantly turned to stone and out of the match. The stakes are high, and that tension makes every call feel like a final vote. But it’s not just detective work! You’ve got to move fast, loot gear, place traps, and fight when it comes down to it. You can even buy tools from wandering NPCs to help you out mid-match.
The hotel is full of strange angles and hidden clues, with a design that leans more Knives Out than Resident Evil. It’s a whodunit where you also get a shotgun.
The game is developed by Tactic Studios and backed by Square Enix, which gives it a surprising level of polish for something this experimental. The closed beta is now live for sign-ups on Steam, and while there’s no official release date, the early response has been strong. And some players are already calling it one of the most interesting multiplayer spins to come out of SGF.
