ILL – Survival Horror with Body Horror Realism Drops Brutal Gameplay

ILL doesn’t hold back ONE BIT.

It plunges players into a brutal survival horror where body horror isn’t optional—it’s the point. Released at Summer Game Fest 2025, the game hit hard with a trailer full of grotesque scenes built using Unreal Engine 5. Since then, it’s become one of the most talked-about entries on Steam.

Developed by Team Clout and published under Mundfish Powerhouse (the team behind Atomic HeartILL delivers bone-chilling visuals and shocking gore. However, the goal isn’t just to gross you out. This is survival focused. Dismemberment has real impact. You’ll track ammo, explore closely lit spaces, and confront horrors that feel alive.

This game does unsettling horror wayyyyyy too perfectly…

PC Gamer said it felt “unsettling” yet compelling, and GamesRadar compared it to Half-Life crossed with The Thing, calling it a “good f**king horror game.” Meanwhile, Reddit users praised the trailer’s gross-out visuals, even as they questioned how much is actual gameplay footage.

But me? While watching the trailer, I swear I started having goose bumps when the (in)humans slowly started looking towards. Good gosh I got cold sweat! There is something deeply unsettling on how everything acts and reacts to you as a player… Team Clout Inc, I got to applaud you!

Currently, ILL is up for wishlist on PC (Steam) only. Console versions are rumored for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through the backing of Mundfish Powerhouse, but nothing is set in stone yet.

If you like your horror with guts—literally—ILL looks ready to fight for the title of most disturbing game of the year. We’ll be watching to see if its ambition can deliver when it’s finally playable.
