Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School Swaps Secluded Rooms with Open-World Campus Puzzles

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School swaps corridors for a full campus, but it’s still packed with traps, puzzles, and various rooms to escape. The Day of the Devs showcase had us walking through hallways, sneaking past lockers, and racing the clock in chalkboard-filled classrooms.

Coin Crew Games is back with iam8bit Presents, and this time they’re turning linear escape rooms into something bigger. You land in the Academy and choose your adventure: explore between classes, team up with a friend, or sneak through secret tunnels to uncover campus lore. There are still tense timed puzzles (like stopping spiked ceilings),  but now you can breathe, wander, and dive into side quests with a chilled No-Timer Mode if you prefer.

The concept of having a full campus to explore and solves puzzles in looks like a great evolution instead of confined spaces and jumps to new locations.

The game supports solo and co-op play, with split-screen and online options. Soundtrack by DJ Doseone returns, and the aesthetic mixes school life with suspense. Friendly chatter with classmates, student-run antics, and even a cat wandering the quad make the place feel alive, even if it’s hiding something darker.

The original Escape Academy hit four million players, and this sequel is set to follow with a 2026 release on PC (Steam & Epic). Console plans aren’t confirmed yet, but there’s no rushing this campus year.

If you liked solving escape room puzzles under pressure, get ready to take that energy into a place full of memories, mystery, and midnight pranks. Class is about to begin folks!
