As a little girl; I’ve always had a love for the creativity that comes with the fashion industry. Being an artist myself I’ve always looked for those bold and fierce looks that really entices the audience, drawing them in challenging their imagination. Bratz did more than that, they were just the divas my tiny heart was searching for and I’ve been a fan ever since, even in my 20s!
My very first introduction to any kind of bratz game was the timeless “Bratz: Forever Diamonds”. I loved everything about that game as a child and it’s stuck with me since. From the stylish clothes, to the adorable pets, and fun activities; there was always something fun to do in the bratz universe that captivated your creativity. My love for the nostalgic game made me even more excited to experience this one, and boy was I pleasantly surprised when I launched my game.

Upon starting the game if you’re any form of a Bratz fan you immediately recognize the iconic theme song hitting your ears. The pure joy I felt during my first look; doctors should check my dopamine levels because my inner child was Elated!
From the beautiful adaptation to our girls’ looks to the nostalgic theme, I was already hooked and ready to play at my age. It’s not rated E for everyone for no reason. They were well aware their audience has new and returning fans that have grown up with Bratz to cater to and delivered upon first impressions!
During gameplay you start off playing Chloe but you’re able to choose between which girl you’d love to be (Chloe, Jade, Sasha, Yasmin). My personal favorite has always been Sasha! After a few quick tutorials on movements, alterations of your character, and how to use certain details like your camera; you’re off! You and the ladies get to travel around the world blogging for magazines and building your fan base with your impeccable picture taking skills and your fierce fashion sense!
Each stop you make has their challenges and quest to complete on your journey as trend setters that help you unlock new items of clothing, stores to help you enhance your look or your photography skills, and lastly make new friends to help you on your way to the top.

My favorite part of this game of course is the styling. If you love dress up coded games you know where I’m coming from and as a Bratz fan that’s a bare witness to the different themes the girls have gone through?
You’ll be just as excited to see they have their iconic looks in game like their “Bratz: Rock Angelz” theme along with other fun looks to match each destination and magazine theme you’ll be participating in. Each Brat has their own personalized hair each theme but you’ll be able to change fits and customize make up to your liking.
Outside of being a fashionista there are also cute little mini games that help earn you XP or random items of clothing throughout the game to help expand your closet; and if you’re anything like me and want to quickly make your way around the maps, there are transportation devices like skates and hoverboards you can get to move faster!

This isn’t a very big game or long for that matter, I myself finished it within a day of sitting down and actually playing it through and was shocked how quickly it ended. I will say I was a bit disappointed the journey had to end so soon but I enjoyed the aesthetics of the game. However it just felt like it was missing factors like variety and depth.
While the quest and challenges are fairly easy to get through they are very repetitive and kind of feel like busy work to keep you playing the game; I really wish there was more of a story line in there to follow rather than different random activities given just to finish magazines.
Developers did a great job with animations but as a fan of bratz I definitely wanted to see more from them and I really hope there are some adjustments in the new up and coming game set to release in September.
Even though it might be deemed to be a game for a younger crowd I believe the game deserved more passion for fashion. Regardless of my neutral feelings of this release I’m excited to see what adjustments they may have made to Bratz: Rhythm and Style since the 2022 drop Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion.
